What is a Hospice?

Hospice is a program of heath care service designated to meet the special needs of patients and their loved once, when the patient is diagnosed with a disease for which they do not elect aggressive treatment.

It is generally home-based, but they sometimes provide services away from home – in freestanding facilities, in nursing homes, or within hospitals.
